In 2009 I did a roadshow called PHP BBQ Tour 2009. The idea was to make the german PHP meetups better know by doing a bit of an unusual meeting – a BBQ! Thus, I contacted some of the local heroes and the user groups really made it happen. For one week there was a PHP user group BBQ on every day in some major german cities. It has been a fantastic week for me, travelling throug germany with a mysqlnd talk on my notebook that has not been given at a single BBQ. However, look at the peoples faces – who did not enjoy this summer week in 2009…
